Led by Uncle Cheef himself—six-time Grammy-winning saxophonist Ian Hendrickson-Smith (of The Roots and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)—the Empire Gumbo Band features an all-star cast of New York City's premier world class musicians.

Inspired by the joyous spirit of New Orleans brass bands and fueled by the fearless creativity of NYC's cutting-edge jazz scene, the Empire Gumbo Band delivers an electrifying live experience unlike any other. Like a great pot of gumbo, no two performances are ever the same. Every show is a one-of-a-kind celebration of deep grooves, bold improvisation, and musical exploration, weaving together beloved classics, hidden gems, and thrilling surprises into an unforgettable night of music.
